The Museum and Study Center of the Institut du Dessin, located at the historic Villa Faraggiana, is presently under construction. The Villa Faraggiana was commissioned by the Marquis Gerolamo Durazzo in the early seventeenth century. The Marquis' descendant Marcello Durazzo sold the villa to the noble Faraggiana family in 1821.

The last direct Faraggiana descendant, Alessandro Faraggiana, bequeathed the villa and its estate to the city of Novara in 1962. The new museum and center is being constructed on the villa's grounds.
